The short version
- Your list is saved only on your phone. The only exception is your reminder times, if you turn reminders on.
- What you ask Sayso to sort, read or hear is sent to a service to do that one job.
- Sayso has no accounts and keeps no copy of your list.
- Sayso counts how often things happen, never who did them — except a one-hour count per connection, to stop abuse. What you choose to tell Sayso is sent to the people who make it.
Sayso does not sell your information.
Who makes Sayso
Sayso is made by Shahrad Hakimi, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada.
What stays on your phone
Your list, your settings, and any documents you photographed and their originals stay in this browser's own storage for saysoit.com.
If you keep a copy, it goes where you send it through your phone's share menu. Sayso never sees it.
What leaves your phone, and where it goes
The company that does each job may keep what it is sent, under its own terms. See "What the services keep" below.
Google's terms name no country for the free service; ElevenLabs says it keeps data in the United States; so photos and words may leave Canada.

When you tap Sort it, Sayso sends the words you said or typed to Google. It also sends up to 100 of the most recent items already on your list, so new items can be matched with old ones. For each item, it sends the text, category and a private ID number. Sayso also sends your phone’s date, time and time zone, so words like “this week” are read right. Cloudflare's AI Gateway carries this with its own logs turned off, and Sayso keeps nothing afterward.
A recording of your voice is sent first to ElevenLabs, then Microsoft Azure in Canada, then Cloudflare's own Workers AI, until one answers. Sayso keeps no copy of your words — only a daily count of which service answered. ElevenLabs may keep and use the recording under its own terms (see below).
Sayso sends your chosen photo or file and the language you're using to Google to read and explain. Sayso keeps nothing afterward.
Sayso sends Google your question, the document, and your last three questions and answers in that conversation. Sayso saves nothing. The conversation is gone as soon as you close it.
When you take a photo of a card to fill in a form, Sayso sends the photo and the form's question to Google to find the number. Sayso keeps nothing afterward. Never use it for a bank card.
Sayso sends the form's questions and your answers to Google to write your answers in the form's language. Sayso keeps nothing afterward.
When you speak a command, such as 'undo that', Sayso sends the words to Google to understand what you mean. Sayso keeps nothing afterward.
When you speak in a form, a reply, a document question or your steps, Sayso sends those words and what is on screen to Google. This is to tell whether they belong somewhere else, like your shopping list. Sayso keeps nothing afterward.
If you turn reminders on, a wake-up address and your reminder times are stored on Cloudflare's servers — never what the reminder says. This is deleted after 400 days, or as soon as you turn reminders off.
When Sayso has no picture yet for something you typed, that one word is sent to Cloudflare's own Workers AI to draw one. The drawing is kept and shared with everyone who types that same word — never linked to you.
When Sayso has no picture yet for a step of a recipe or a set of instructions, a short English description of that step, written by Sayso from your words or your document, is sent to Cloudflare's own Workers AI to draw one. The drawing is kept and shared with everyone whose step had the same description — never linked to you.
Sayso sends each item's ID, text, unit and variety, and your chosen language to Google to show your list in another language. Sayso keeps nothing afterward.
Sayso sends what you say or type and the two languages to Google to translate. Sayso keeps nothing afterward.
You choose each time whether to send a medicine label: Sayso sends only a photo you take or choose. It sends that photo and the language you're using to Google to read. Sayso keeps nothing afterward.
Sayso sends the word you tap, the sentence around it, and your language to Google to find its meaning. Sayso keeps nothing afterward.
For a call card, Sayso sends Google the task, its day and place if it has them, and the two languages. After the call, Sayso also sends the words you say about it. Sayso keeps nothing afterward.
When you tap Help me start, Sayso sends Google the task, its day if any, the small steps already done, and your language. Sayso keeps nothing afterward.
When you answer a letter, Sayso sends Google the saved letter (its photo, file or text), what you said, and the languages. Sayso keeps nothing afterward.
When you type or say your choice in Help me find, Sayso sends those words and your language to Google to read. To find places, your city, your language and your country (if it is the United States or Canada) go to OpenAI's web search. So does what you ask for: the kind of help, who it is for, free or not, when, and any community or language you name. Nothing else goes to OpenAI. Your place also goes to Sayso's own server, but not to Google. Sayso keeps nothing afterward. If you ask for choices, only the topic, your place and what matters to you go to Sayso's own server. For the free help topics, your language goes to Sayso's own server too.
The health check sends nothing of yours. It only asks the server to report its own daily speech numbers.
Sayso tells its server that something happened, for example "the app was installed" or "someone came back after a week". Once a day it also sends totals: roughly how much Sayso was used, and in its busiest hour. They also show which kinds of paper were read, and where in a form or in steps someone stopped. No name, no list, no words from your papers, nothing about you.
If you tap Yes or No under "Did Sayso get that right?", only that answer is sent. If you tell Sayso what you think, your voice is turned into words like any voice typing. Those words are sent and kept for up to 400 days. They go with the language of the app and whether you had just said Sayso got it wrong. If you turn on "Help Sayso hear better", each word you correct is sent as two words: the wrong one and the right one. If you correct a name, that name is sent. The language of the app goes with each corrected word. If you are testing Sayso and tap "Something wrong?", the kind you chose goes with your words. Your list is never sent with any of these.
If you came to Sayso from a test invitation, its link holds a short group code, the same for everyone in your group. For 60 days from the first day this phone saw the code, it is sent with your answers. After that, it is never sent. It also goes with the counts. It never names you.
Sayso may ask you a few short questions. They cover your age range, gender, phone, how easy apps are, and your home language. They also ask about ADHD, dyslexia, language barriers and your accent. Each answer you choose only adds one to a count. It is never kept with your name, your list or the day. If you came from a test invitation, some counts are kept per invitation group. Health answers and gender never are. We never try to find out whose answer it was. We cannot take one back out, because we do not know which is yours. Our database provider keeps a short backup history of these counts; we never use it to see when an answer came.
If you came to Sayso from a link in one of our posts, the link holds a short code. The code names the network, and sometimes one video. Everyone who taps that link gets the same code. It is sent once when you arrive, saying whether this phone had used Sayso before. Then it stays on this phone for 30 days. In that time it goes with three counts: installed, first sort, and came back a week later. A newer link replaces it. The phone also keeps a list of codes it has seen, so a link tapped twice counts once; that list never leaves the phone. It never names you.
Every request also carries your internet address, which Cloudflare uses to count how many requests you have made. That count is deleted within the hour.
Sometimes Sayso listens with your browser's own speech recognition instead — for example Google's, inside Chrome, which may send your voice to Google. This happens while Sayso reads your list aloud, so it can hear you say 'stop'. It also happens on phones that cannot record for Sayso's own service. And it happens when Sayso is offline, or for about five minutes after a service fails.
While paying is open, your phone asks Sayso for the prices about once a day. If you pay for Sayso, Paddle (paddle.com) takes the payment and keeps your email address and what you paid, under its own privacy policy. Paddle's payment window runs on Sayso's page and may keep its own cookies. Sayso keeps a signed note on your phone: until when it is paid, and Paddle's numbers for your payment. Once a day, and when you tap “Change your card or cancel”, your phone sends Sayso its signed note. After you pay, it sends Paddle's number for that payment.
To use your payment on a new phone, you email a code to restore@saysoit.com. Sayso uses your address only to find your payment. It is deleted once the payment is found, and within one hour at the latest. Our database provider keeps a short backup history (up to 30 days) in which the address can remain. We never use it to look at addresses. Sayso sends one reply to the address your email came from.
Free uses: if you confirm an email to get free uses of a paid feature, you send one email with a short code to restore@saysoit.com. Sayso keeps a scrambled fingerprint of the address; it cannot be turned back into your address. With no end date, Sayso keeps that fingerprint and the day and time of your first confirmation, so each address gets the free uses once. Whoever holds Sayso's secret key could check whether a known address has confirmed. The address itself is deleted within an hour at the latest. Our database provider keeps a short backup history (up to 30 days) in which the address can remain. We never use it to look at addresses. One reply is sent. Your phone keeps a signed note and counts your free uses itself.
When you tap a link marked with free uses, the link carries a random number made on your phone. If you buy, the shop's partner network tells Sayso only that this number bought something; Sayso does not learn what you bought or the price. To give you the free uses, your phone sends Sayso the numbers of the marked links you tapped in the last 120 days. It does this whether you bought or not, from your internet address. Sayso does not keep these numbers from your phone or write them down. It keeps a number a network reported for 180 days, then deletes it.
Health answers
Sayso may ask if you have ADHD or dyslexia. It is optional. Your answer only adds one to a count. It is never kept with an invitation group, your name, your list or the day. Our database provider keeps a short backup history of these counts; we never use it to see when an answer came.
What the services keep
What Google says
We use Google's free service. Google's terms say people at Google may read what is sent, and Google may use it to improve its products.

What ElevenLabs says
ElevenLabs' own terms say your content may be used to provide, improve and build its services.

What Microsoft Azure says
For the fast transcription Sayso uses, Azure says it does not retain or store what is sent.
Read at Microsoft Learn (Azure Speech data privacy and security) on 2026-09-25.
What Cloudflare says
Cloudflare says it does not use what is sent to Workers AI to train models, and Sayso keeps this AI Gateway's own logging off.
Read at Cloudflare's developer documentation (Workers AI) on 2026-09-25.
What Sayso's own server keeps
Sayso's own server keeps only what this page lists. Its error notes are kept three days and never contain your words.
Cookies and tracking
Sayso sets no cookies. No advertising. Here are some of the small notes that stay on your phone between visits. The advert code stays for at most 30 days, and only after an advert link. The tester group code is used for 60 days, and only after a test invitation link. The day of your first sort stays on your phone. Only its week is sent, with the first-use count and the "came back" counts. A short list of advert codes already seen also stays on your phone, with no time limit, and never leaves it. A short list of group codes already seen does the same. The advert code and the week go only with the counts. The group code goes with the counts and with the answers you send, as written above. One more note keeps how many lists you sorted and on which days you used Sayso. It also keeps words you began to write but did not send. It stays on your phone, and those words are sent only if you tap Send.
Sayso counts how often things happen, for example how many lists were sorted today. It never records who did them. Cloudflare counts visits to this site the same way, without cookies.
When you choose to pay, Paddle's payment window may set its own cookies. Sayso's own pages still set none.
Children
Sayso is not made for children under 13.
If you are in Europe
Sayso uses what you send to do the job you ask for. That is its legal reason. Sayso also counts the requests from your internet address for one hour, to stop abuse. And it counts how often things happen, with the advert code or group code if you came from a link. The legal reason for both is Sayso's own interest in running the service and stopping abuse.
What you choose to tell Sayso about itself is used because you chose to send it. This includes your answers to its short questions and, if you came from a test invitation, the group code sent with some of them.
The services named above may work outside Europe, for example in the United States and Canada.
Seeing, correcting or deleting what Sayso holds
To ask what Sayso holds about you, to correct it, or to delete it, write to us at the address under Questions.
We reply to a privacy request within 7 business days.
Sayso has no accounts and never asks for your email or who you are to use it. A name shows on a list you send only if you choose one. That name stays on your phone, except inside the links you send yourself. "Show each step" on a form asks the questions the form itself asks, and they may include a name. If the form is in another language, your answers go to Google to be translated, as written above. Words you speak in a form go to Google whatever the language, as written above. To find what is yours, tell us roughly what you sent and when.
Not happy with our answer? You can complain to British Columbia's privacy office (oipc.bc.ca).
You can also complain to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
Deleting everything
- Clear your list in Sayso: open More, then Clear all.
- Turn reminders off in Settings. That deletes the server's record of them.
- Clear this site's data in your browser's own settings.
- What you told Sayso has no name on it, so nobody can find your words to remove them. They are deleted after 400 days.
When this page changes
The date at the top changes. The next time you open Sayso, it tells you once that this page has changed.
